Baramulla, Mar 25 KTR: The people of Batar, a village in Kundi Barjala, are facing big problems due to a lack of water and an unfinished road. The village’s main water supply line is broken, and people and their animals do not have clean water. Even after asking the concerned department many times, no official has come to check or fix the issue.
Because of this, the villagers are struggling and have to use other, often unsafe, sources of water. They have requested the Jal Shakti Department to fix the water supply as soon as possible.
Along with the water problem, the villagers are also facing trouble because the road to Batar is incomplete. The road construction started in 2022 after many requests from the people, but the work was stopped halfway. Despite several requests, the concerned department has not resumed the work.
The incomplete road is making it difficult for the villagers to access important services like healthcare and education. Frustrated by the delay, the people are now asking the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Uri and the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Baramulla to take action and complete the road.
“The broken water line and unfinished road have made life very hard for us,” said one villager. “We request the authorities to solve these problems before things get worse.”
The villagers have informed Kashmir Time Reports about their problems, hoping that the authorities will take action to improve the situation in Batar. KTR
